Learn to Play Hockey Program for Adults Only

Try the action-packed game of ice hockey!

FREE introductory ice hockey class

· Sunday, September 12, 7:15pm.  Arrive by 6:30pm to check in. 

· Adults only, guys and gals welcomed

· Class size limited to 30 players

· Skates & equipment provided

Class is for new skaters only.  Basic skating skills are required.  NO HOCKEY EXPERIENCE NEEDED.

Sign up today for a Skatetown's learn to play hockey program just for adults.  This program is designed to take NEW players, with little or no experience, from learning to skate to playing in our new Adult Bronze Hockey League.

Sundays 7:15-8:30 pm

10/17 and 12/19 classes will be at 6:45pm

Do I need to know how to skate?

Basic skating skills are required.  It is recommended that a player with no prior skating experience take a class through Skatetown's Learn to Skate program before enrolling in this class. 

What equipment will I need?

Players are required to wear full gear. Loaner helmet and rental skates are included in the price of the program. Skatetown’s Pro-Shop has put together a special package price that includes all the equipment you will need.

Adult Bronze Hockey League
The Adult league begins in March 2010.  Once you have completed Adult LTPH, you can then proceed to the Bronze/beginner league if you feel ready.

The cost to play in the hockey league is not included in the program fee.

What will I learn?

  • Week 1-2: Skating

  • Week 3-4: Skating and puck handling

  • Week 5-7: Skating, puck handling and passing

  • Week 8-9: Puck handling, passing and shooting

  • Week 10-13: Shooting and situational play such as one-on-one with explanations of the specifics

  • Week 14-18: Game scenarios

  • Week 19-20: Controlled scrimmage (stopping the play to the point where players should be positioned)

  • Week 21-23: Team play, tactics and strategy
