Come and have a good time -- regardless of what level skater you are. Programs include Public Sessions, adults-only Coffee Club, Freestyle and Power Skating.
Each Learn to Skate semester is three months long. At the end of each semester we offer testing for each skater to determine if they should be moved to the next class. The graduated stair step levels help the skater to master each new skill, and motivate him or her to accept the challenge of adding another new skill. Private Lessons Coffee Club Frequent Coffee club skater passes are available - 10 passes for $120. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 12:15-1:45pm. Click below to check Coffee Club schedules over the summer. $12.00 per session. Price includes a pass to skate the Public Session before or after Coffee Club. Skatetown in the News!
Freestyle Sessions $10 per for 60 minute sessions, $5 for 30 minute sessions. Frequent freestyle skater passes are available; 10 sessions for $100.
Jump harness passes can be purchased for $20 (monthly pass; unlimited use) or $5 (single use).
Power Skating Students in this program will need both the desire to learn and a willingness to work hard. Power skating is both for figure skaters and hockey players. It concentrates on speed in both directions, upper and lower body strength, stamina, endurance, forward and backwards technique, edge use and controlled turns, agility and flexibility.
Sign up for a 13-week Power Skating session through Skating School (Saturdays from 10:15-10:45am) or pay $10 per class on a drop-in basis.
Special Events
Ice Shows Show off what you have learned in classes! Skatetown ice shows are designed for everyone to have fun! Parents and the entire community can get involved (building props, sets, sewing costumes etc.).
All students participating in our Learn to Skate program are invited to perform with a group, or he/she might like to take a few private lessons and perform a solo to music. Skatetown hosts an annual Holiday on Ice Spectacular as well as an Evening of Exhibitions in May.
Competitions
The fun and excitement of I.S.I. competitions are available to skaters of all ages, from children to adults. I.S.I. competitions are non-qualifying events, starting with the beginners' basic Alpha test and ranging up to the highest levels.
The 'team concept' for I.S.I. competitions was developed to encourage skaters of all levels of ability and achievement. Skaters will eventually travel to other arenas and compete as a team. Skaters receive a medal or trophy for an individual performance and Skatetown may receive a team trophy.
Pick up a flyer from our flyer rack or call Carrie Clarke at (916) 783-8550 ext. 113 for details.
